Watauga River fly fishing literally lines the byways and highways in the North Carolina mountains. The Watauga River, the New River, and several smaller streams are filled with trout, smallmouth bass, and other species. Once you spend a day fishing in the High Country, you’ll understand why investments in mountain property are on the rise. This is simply one of the best ways to enjoy the mountain scenery along the blue ridge.

Most streams don’t require rigorous hiking to get into the river beds, but there are a few that need a day in the woods. Going for a day trip in most areas throughout Banner EIK is a good way for you to get out and enjoy the fishing in the North Carolina Mountains plus many other hidden places in the area. Here are three fly fishing spots you can visit to enjoy fly fishing.

The Grandfather Trout Farm is a must visit location to warm up for fly fishing or for first time fishermen. The ponds at this farm are stocked to the brim, and you only pay for the fish you catch.
